SETUP
Choose the platform you are
using:
Windows 95/98:
If your machine matches the Minimum
Requirements for CDEXTRA:
- Quit all open applications.
- Insert your CDEXTRA into
your CD-ROM drive.
- A "Sony Music CDEXTRA"
Autorun dialog box should appear.
- Click on Setup Title in
the dialog box to install the necessary files.
- Once the Setup Procedure
is complete, start the title by clicking on the Play Title button.
- If your computer is not
set to "Autorun" the "Sony Music CDEXTRA" Autorun
dialog box will not appear. Either set your computer to Autorun or follow
the directions for Windows 3.1.
- You need only run the setup
procedure before the first time you play the title. Each subsequent
time you wish to play the title you can simply click Play Title to start
or Play Music to hear the audio tracks after first making sure your
CDEXTRA disc is in your CD-ROM drive.
Windows 3.1:
If your machine matches the Minimum
Requirements for CDEXTRA:
- Quit all open applications.
- Insert your CDEXTRA into
your CD-ROM drive.
- Under the Program Manager
pulldown menu, select File and then Run.
- In the space called Command
Line, type the letter of your CD-ROM drive followed by the setup program
name and click OK (e.g. D:\setup31.exe). This will start the setup procedure.
- The Setup Procedure will
create a program item with the name of your title. Double-click that
item to start your title. For more information see the README file included
on your CDEXTRA.
- You need only run the setup
procedure before the first time you play the title. Each subsequent
time you wish to play the title you can simply double-click the Program
Item after first making sure your CDEXTRA disc is in your CD-ROM drive.
MAC:
If your machine matches the Minimum
Requirements for CDEXTRA:
- If you do not already have
the extensions found in the folder "Drag Contents To System Folder"
then copy the needed extensions into your extensions folder (the extensions
folder can be found in the system folder).*
Then restart your computer.
- Configure the sound in your
Control Panels as follows: under the Apple Menu select Control Panels,
select Sound, select Sound In, select Internal CD, select Playthrough.
- Before running your Macintosh
CDEXTRA, copy the Application Program Icon bearing the name of your
title from the CDEXTRA in your CD-ROM drive onto your hard drive. (If
you are using the Ottmar Liebert "Opium" CDEXTRA, do not copy
this file, simply double-click it to start the title.)
- To run the CDEXTRA title
simply double-click on the Application Program Icon which you just copied
to your hard drive.
*
The folder entitled "Drag Contents to System Folder" contains
extensions necessary to run this title. If you are unsure whether you
have an extension or its latest version, drag that extension on to your
system folder (without actually opening the system folder). Then follow
the instructions your Macintosh gives you. If you want to keep older versions
of any extensions, move them into another folder first before dragging
the new ones in. The QuickTime PowerPlug extension should only be installed
if you are using a Power Mac. After you are done installing new extensions,
restart your Macintosh.
